Matt...if you want to keep friends you should know that correcting them isn't the best way to keep them..yes we know, you are a smarty-pants...well, wait, someone who falls and 'impales' himself, can't be THAT smart...hmmm

OK, everyone steel yourself for the news, but Matt's wrong again. Looks like he slipped up when he made his comment about the Euro.

The pound is still in existence. The Euro is just an additional currency recognized by the participating European countries.

So without using any puns or in any way making fun of the fact that Matthew is a dork who fell flat on his rear, yes, the pound IS still the currency for England.

As I heard it, the English were too stuck in their ways (read "snobby") to want to give up their precious pounds, so they still use them (although I think they may take Euros if that is what you have). Some countries will accept both, but in other countries, their original money has become almost obsolete...like the Deutschmark in Germany.

And just because I was curious, I looked up the exchange rate between dollars/euros. The exchange rate is roughly .77, which means you give them $100 and you get €77. As opposed to pounds, where if you give them $100, you get roughly £52. The euro exchange rate may stink, but I would take it over the pound exchange rate any day!

BTW, don't miss the new comments on Melina's previous post as well. My wife is a doorbell freak as well!!!

Try the exchange rate of calories to pounds. That isn't the greatest either.
